Towards National Dietary Guidelines

On May 21, 2025, an introductory seminar titled “Towards National Dietary Guidelines” was held at the Frankfurt Hotel in Tashkent, jointly organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Ministry of Agriculture.

During the seminar, FAO experts discussed the importance of developing Food-Based Dietary Guidelines (FSBDG), the stages of their preparation, and the concept of healthy and sustainable food systems.

The Chairman of the Association of Cooks of Uzbekistan, Akbar Umarov, took part in this important event and highlighted the role of chefs in forming a culture of healthy eating within food systems.

Within the framework of the seminar:
• Approaches to developing FSBDG were discussed;
• Priority issues of healthy and sustainable nutrition in Uzbekistan were reviewed;
• International experience was shared;
• Future practical steps were identified.
